Enemies of the People: Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus
The End Is Near (Again)
by Michael Walsh
Stop me if you've heard this one before: comes the news that the countdown to doomsday has been started up again, and this time Planet Earth has only two years left to get its act together before it's too late. The huzzerei comes from, where else, the United Nations, one of the two principal remaining relicts of World War II badly in need of immediate demolition. (The other is NATO.) Make sure your affairs are in order, your last will and testament duly drawn and notarized, bend over, grab your ankles, and assume the crash position because here it comes:
Humanity has only two years left “to save the world” by making dramatic changes in the way it spews heat-trapping emissions and it has even less time to act to get the finances behind such a massive shift, the head of the United Nations climate agency said.
With governments of the world facing a 2025 deadline for new and stronger plans to curb carbon pollution, nearly half of the world's populations voting in elections this year, and crucial global finance meetings later this month in Washington, United Nations executive climate secretary Simon Stiell said Wednesday he knows his warning may sound melodramatic. But he said action over the next two years is “essential.”
Give us your money.
“We still have a chance to make greenhouse gas emissions tumble, with a new generation of national climate plans. But we need these stronger plans, now,” Stiell said in a speech at the Chatham House think tank in London. He suggested that climate action is not just for powerful people to address — in a not-so-veiled reference to the electoral calendar this year.
"Who exactly has two years to save the world? The answer is every person on this planet,” Stiell said.
This means you! Get used to it because the imminent End of the World is now an integral part of the leftist Narrative, a global racket with which to extract money from the First World and then either throw it away or put it in their own pockets. You may have noticed that lately we've been inundated with fanciful horror stories about how this year, this month, this week, this very moment is the hottest on record in the entire history of the planet, which by the way only stretches back to the 1880s, but never mind about that. We simply must do something!
Perhaps you've had an experience buying a car and thus now have a sense of déjà vu all over again, as Yogi Berra once said. The salesmen have a way of applying pressure that works as both carrot and stick, stoking your lust for the vehicle with the fear that if you don't act right now, the offer will be snatched from the table and some other sonofabitch will be stylin' around town in your wheels tomorrow. You know:
According to the AP, "Crop-destroying droughts have increased the need for bolder action to curb emissions and help farmers adapt which could boost food security and lessen hunger, he said. 'Cutting fossil fuel pollution will mean better health and huge savings for governments and households alike,' Stiell said."
The key to the con is the deliberate linkage between droughts, which have been naturally occurring from time immemorial (ask the ancient Egyptians, if you can find any), and "fossil-fuel pollution," which dates all the way back to Henry Ford and his world-destroying motor cars. The "global warming" and "climate change" scams have been going on since the 1970s, and what's remarkable about them is they always have the same villain. Call it fossil fuel, or oil and gas, or carbon emissions, it is the sole cause of incipient misery, and the only possible explanation for the newly discovered threat of "climate change." Which also, come to think of it, also has been ongoing forever and has little or nothing to do with human activity.
But self-hatred is a hallmark of the suicide cult known as the international Left, bastard children of Karl Marx and Rachel Carson, who preach the doctrine of Critical Theory and are determined to convince you of the urgency of their message by parting you from your money.
'Climate' Propaganda Masquerading as 'Journalism'
by Buck Throckmorton
There is a good chance you have been made aware of this recent story from The Independent, which sounds like a parody but isn’t: "How Climate Change Is Hitting Vulnerable Indonesian Trans Sex Workers."
Trans women like Patiha are among the most affected by extreme weather linked to climate change, as well as suffering disproportionately when disasters strike. Indonesia is particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change, and trans women, who tend to face more stigma and marginalisation than trans men or other LGBTQ+ Indonesians, are also among those hardest hit by extreme weather.
This is exactly the coverage of the “climate crisis” that is being promoted by a media-affiliated climate organization, Covering Climate Now (“CCNow”), which has partnered with hundreds of media outlets to influence and advocate for the net-zero elimination of reliable, carbon-based energy. A deeper dive into CCNow reveals that it is a radical group whose media training and resources are focused entirely on promoting regime propaganda while suppressing dissenting voices. In other words, its purpose is to prevent actual journalism that might engage in critical inquiry of the ruling class’ communist eco-agenda.
Just what is Covering Climate Now and who are its media partners?
Covering Climate Now helps journalists and newsrooms improve the caliber and prominence of their reporting through training, networking, collaboration, and more. Over 500 journalism outlets from around the world have joined CCNow, including some of the biggest names in journalism…
It is noteworthy that ABC, NBC, CBS, and Reuters, which still present themselves as “objective,” have formally aligned with this organization whose mission is to train journalists in political advocacy. Naturally, tax-payer funded PBS is also a partner of CCNow, as is The Independent, which has clearly embraced the incorporation of “climate” into its social justice stories. Let’s first take a quick look at CCNow’s guiding principles.
COMMUNITY: “Collaborate with hundreds of newsroom partners to share best practices, develop reporting projects, and gain insights from diverse perspectives.”
Translation: Engage in JournoList-style collusion to politically frame how climate is reported.
SUPPORT: “Build climate reporting confidence by participating in webinars and newsroom training programs throughout the year.”
Translation: Attend indoctrination sessions and learn to confidently repeat the approved talking points.
LEADERSHIP: “Show industry leadership by highlighting your newsroom’s commitment to climate reporting excellence.”
Translation: Become a “leader” by policing your peers and by compelling their obedience to the official globalist position.
VISIBILITY: “Gain recognition for your climate coverage and strengthen the impact of your reporting.”
Translation: Awards, syndication of articles, and career progression all depend on hewing to the approved climate narrative.
Pierre Poilievre Brings Down the House
by Tom Finnerty
Canada's premier conference for political conservatives, Canada Strong and Free, took place in Ottawa last week. And, having been in attendance, this writer couldn't help notice a markedly different tone than in years past. There was an excitement in the air with every speech and panel, no doubt attributable to the polls over the past several months showing that, if an election were held today, the Conservatives would run away with it, and send the odious Justin Trudeau to what will no doubt be a highly remunerated retirement (he's likely to be a frequent guest at Davos, the U.N., and anywhere else where Libs congregate), far from the levers of power.
The man most likely to take Trudeau's place is Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, who came into that position on the back of his support for the Freedom Convoy, a position which we should remember, was considered risky at the time. Erin O'Toole, who was leader of the Conservatives during the convoy, was extremely tepid and dissembling in his support for the truckers. Poilievre on the other hand, stuck his neck out for them, and eventually (after having lost the last election to Trudeau), the conservatives kicked O'Toole to the curb and voted overwhelmingly to put Poilievre in his place.
Thus far, Poilievre has done quite a good job of holding Trudeau's feet to the fire in opposition, winning himself increasing admiration from the country's long-suffering conservative base. Consequently, he Poilievre was treated like a rockstar at Strong and Free, and his keynote address rightly brought down the house.
The Tide's Not Rushing In

The Wall Street Journal reports that very few voters, including the very young are taking the doom-mongering of "climate change" seriously: “A Journal poll, which surveyed voters in seven swing states in March, found that just 3% of 18-to-34-year-old voters named climate change as their top issue, with most citing the economy, inflation or immigration. That is roughly in line with voters of all ages, 2% of whom cited climate change as their top issue.” They have no reason to, given that such claims have regularly proven to be false, something The Pipeline has reliably tracked.
In one bogus example of "climate change," consider the claims the low-lying Pacific islands of Tuvalu and the Maldives will sink as "climate change" will cause the surrounding waters to rise and engulf them. The claims begin with interviews of indigenous people squatting near the shorelines and repeating to reporters what they’ve been told: that absent an infusion of a lot of foreign money to ameliorate it, they and their homes will be lost to surging waters. This piece in the Guardian is typical:
On the hottest days, Leitu Frank feels like she can’t breathe any more. The housewife and mother of five decamps from her airless concrete home to catch the breeze in a simple wooden shack by the water’s edge. She folds washing and stares out at the unsettled turquoise sea, its moods and rhythms increasingly unpredictable, as its rising proximity threatens to strangle her family.
“The sea is eating all the sand,” says Frank, 32, dressed in a pink stretchy T-shirt and faded sarong. “Before, the sand used to stretch out far, and when we swam we could see the sea floor, and the coral. Now, it is cloudy all the time, and the coral is dead. Tuvalu is sinking.”
The fourth smallest nation in the world, Tuvalu is home to just 11,000 people, most of whom live on the largest island of Fongafale, where they are packed in and fighting for space. Tuvalu’s total land area accounts for less than 26 sq km.
Once again, empirical evidence exposes these claims as bunkum.
EVs: Powered by Other People's Money
by David Cavena
Enviro-Leftist plotting makes our lives more difficult and expensive, which is a fact we've been hammering home here at The Pipeline for years now. Where, for instance, do we get the money to fund our ongoing highway maintenance? Gasoline taxes collected at the pump. That being so, which group of our fellow citizens are able to avoid paying such taxes? Those who drive battery-operated electric vehicles.
And aside from frost heave in the northern states, what is probably the primary causes of damage to highways across the nation? Vehicle weight. It’s why truck weights are regulated and enforced, and trucks often lane-controlled. The goal is to keep the highway damage within known parameters of repair and cost.
But one underappreciated fact about electric vehicles is that they are heavier than gas-and-diesel driven cars. A lot heavier. Consequently, they cause more particulate matter to be released into the air as their brakes and tires wear out more quickly, dumping millions of little pieces of tire and brake pads all over the road and into the air (not to mention our lungs), along with microplastics into the ocean (not to mention our food).
"[A study] found that brakes and tires on EVs release 1,850 times more particle pollution compared to modern tailpipes." Strange how the Left obsessively refers to carbon dioxide emissions as "pollution," when CO2 is one of the gasses which make life on Earth possible, while ignoring this stuff, which is what the word "pollution" has traditionally referred to.
In any event, the weight of EVs also does something similar to the road -- increasing airborne particulate matter by breaking up and wearing down roadways. And yet, as mentioned above, EV owners don’t pay to repair those roads. You do.
That’s all for this week, but keep a look out for all of our articles over at The Pipeline!
Be of GOoD Cheer, people! Yes this human age will end. However, the earth goes on into the next age.
It’s all bad. Well. Not all. But most.
